One in the morning on an empty stomach, and one right before your workout.Generally, if you are healthy, the general recommendation is to use the Hypertonic version, not the Isotonic, which is generally used initially for those trying to restore health. We suggest consulting with a physician for the protocol that is best for you.

The tap water tank holds about a gallon of water, which is 128 oz. The clean water tank holds about 3 quarts of purified water, or 96 oz.

Use 1 Hypertonic ampoule - 137 ppm (to structure the water to increase hydration). This should taste like spring water. It is superior to spring water because it Quinton Hypertonic provides 78 minerals and trace elements- compared to 10-20 minerals and trace elements found in natural spring water.Natural spring water (used by many bottled water companies) is quite low in minerals - typically 100-150 ppm. In contrast, European mineral water is typically 1000-2000 ppm.

Undersink RO systems usually include three filter elements (prefilter, RO membrane, postfilter) and a 2.5 gallon sealed storage tank (lined inside with plastic and butyl rubber). Because modern RO membranes (for the past 20 years) produce purified water at such a fast rate (50-75 gallons per day!) while a family typically consumes less than 3-4 gallons per day. The result is that the storage tank is NEVER fully emptied - so some fraction of the water can be sitting stagnant in it for day, weeks, months and even years. The tank then becomes an incubator for microbes that grow to extreme levels (over 100,000 CFU/milliliter!!!). While these are rarely pathogens, they are classified as heterotrophs (typically pseudomonas aeruginosa and like organisms) which in high numbers in vivo can become opportunistic, resulting in illness and a compromised microbiome.
