AquaTru Classic Reverse Osmosis Water System

Beyond taste alone

Four stages. One daily habit.

Pre/carbon filtration prepares the water, the reverse-osmosis membrane reduces dissolved substances, and the final carbon filter finishes the process.

  1. Stages 1 & 2: Pre/carbon filterCaptures sediment and reduces chlorine before water reaches the membrane.
  2. Stage 3: Reverse osmosisA membrane separates purified water from a concentrated stream of rejected substances.
  3. Stage 4: VOC carbon filterFinal filtration for additional listed organic compounds and taste.

The Classic performance data sheet documents reductions including lead, fluoride, chromium-6, chlorine, chloramine, and PFOA/PFOS, under specified test conditions. IAPMO certification covers the applicable claims under NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 401.

Not every contaminant is present in every water supply. Reduction is not complete removal. Performance depends on source water, operation and filter maintenance.

Both require power and manual tank refilling. Allow room above and around the unit to remove tanks and change filters. Tank capacity is storage volume, not a guaranteed output per refill.

Living with Classic

Easy to start. Simple to maintain.

  1. Set upInstall the included filters, wash the removable containers and complete the initial flushing steps in your Classic manual.
  2. RefillFill with cold potable tap water. Empty the water left after a cycle before refilling; do not continually top up the concentrated remainder.
  3. Keep it cleanClean tanks and descale as instructed. Follow the filter indicators and replacement limits, whichever requires attention first.

Ready to get started

Your Classic includes the purifier, clean-water tank, tap-water tank, pre/carbon filter, RO filter, VOC carbon filter and power adapter. Follow the included manual before your first glass.

Check your water first

Use cold, microbiologically safe water. The performance sheets specify a maximum hardness of 10 grains per gallon (171 mg/L) and TDS of 1,500 mg/L. Harder water needs softening first. Private well or unknown-quality water needs testing and appropriate treatment.

Loved it

I've had mine for many years and it's a work horse. I just wish it was easier to purchase replacement parts. Just minor things that I would like to refresh.

Great unit - but here's where to get great support

I bought my AquaTru here and came here for support when the first filter hit it's replacement point (within the range of what it's rated - no complaints there) and noticed that the support is really slow and not proactive at all. I sent a ton of details, waited 2 days and got a reply asking for me to send a picture on top of that. Super frustrating. So I sent the picture, waited another 2 days and got a good response as far as telling me what I needed to do next, which was replace a specific filter. But - no link to actually purchase the filter! It doesn't look like the replacement filters can be purchased here, which turned out to be a good thing because I discovered the actual AquaTru website - aquatruwater dot com - they have great support (answered within an hour) and are fully stocked with what you need, plus great pricing.

Acutru

I give it a 10, but you only have six places for stars there. I’m enjoying it. The water taste good and it’s filtering correctly working correctly no leaks. It’s nice to know that you’re drinking water. That’s good for your body. I put it in my coffee. It made a big difference in my percolator using Accu True water very good.

Love this filter!

A few things to know

Which model should I choose?

Choose Classic for its larger purified-water tank and push-button dispensing. Choose Carafe for its narrower footprint and removable glass serving carafe. Compare the dimensions above with the space available in your kitchen.

Does it need plumbing or installation?

Neither model connects to your plumbing. Both need an electrical outlet, manual tank refilling and the initial setup and flushing described in the manual.

Does it chill the water?

Neither model has built-in chilling. Dispense the filtered water into a suitable container and refrigerate it.

Does reverse osmosis leave water behind?

Yes. RO separates treated water from water containing a higher concentration of rejected substances. Empty the remaining tap-tank water as instructed before the next refill.

Can I use it with a whole-home filter?

Yes. Whole-home filtration treats water entering the house; AquaTru treats the water you drink and cook with. Whether you need both depends on your water and the verified capabilities of your whole-home system.
